CUSTOM MUSIC

Delivering a quality product under tight deadlines is why The Sonic Edge was chosen to create soundtracks for theatrical productions that have travelled the globe. In the past decade The Sonic Edge has been honored to contribute their creative and technical talents to the following productions:

Solstice

“Solstice” is the signature show currently in production aboard Celebrity Cruise’s Solstice.

The show is a European-styled theatrical circus centering around the thirteenth constellation. With the sun passing through the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, a solstice occurs twice a year, a cause for celebration in June and December. The summer solstice represents the longest day and shortest night of the year, while the winter solstice corresponds to the shortest day and longest night of the year.

The “ecliptic” is the apparent path that the sun traces out in the sky. Unbeknownst to most of mankind, the ecliptic passes through a thirteenth constellation, Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus occupies an honored place along the zodiac, amidst the cluster of dust and clouds looking toward the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

Visions: The Spirit Of Dreams

“Visions: The Spirit of Dreams” is played by an experienced cast, consisting of musicians, dancers, trapeze, acrobats and contortionists.

Juggler Paul Ponce, a former performer of the show “Varekai” by Cirque du Soleil, guides the audience through a maze of dreams lived on stage, and German acrobat Achus EMEIs, champion in the world “German Wheel,” which displays a number of rare and difficult balancing maneuvers, traveling the scenic spaces on a gigantic wheel. The Mongolian contortionists, Dalai-Uujiin and Buyanjargal “Buka” Ganzalez, as well as the acrobat Joca Carvalho (former member of the Portugal national Sports Acrobatics) promises to surprise the audience.

In a multidisciplinary perspective, “Visions: The Spirit of the Dream” calls for the imagination, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own memories, emotions and desires, which sometimes get confused with its objective reality. “There are moments of great empathy with the assistance, particularly when the performers leave the stage and move in the middle of the spectators,” says Michael McPherson.

Luminaire

Luminaire is the latest incarnation of Michael McPherson’s Physical Magic. A fusion of many different art forms, Luminaire is an experience greater than the sum of its parts. Luminaire is filled with illusions that defy the imagination, aerial performances that defy gravity, and escapes that defy human logic. From the Garden Arena at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City to the Isleta Casino in Albuquerque, Luminaire has brought audiences to their feet with universally acclaimed performances.

Four: Spirit of the Elements

Four: Spirit of the Elements, a production filled with rhythm and energy in a dazzling evocation of the complex symbiosis in which the four essential elements of nature are fused together. With creative management by Michael McPherson, an ex-performer of the Cirque du Soleil, Four: Spirit of the Elements uses innovative special effects and multimedia solutions which work surprisingly well with the trapeze and acrobatic numbers creating an exhilarating and dynamic sequence of the base elements of the universe which surrounds us.

Irreverent and interactive, Four: Spirit of the Elements breaks through the traditional barriers of performances by abandoning the stage to involve the audience in a glass cage of dreamy sensations and visions. In a journey filled with exoticism and guided by the famous entertainer Eugenio Balasa, Four: Spirit of the Elements brings together at the Black and Silver Room a cast of forty artists which combines dance and song with the arts of the new circus in surprising evolutions in trapeze, combined forces, air acrobatics and fire attractions. Approximately 70 minutes long, the show narrates the circle of life by exalting the strength of EARTH, the obsession of FIRE, the pulsation of AIR and the fluidity of WATER.

Multidisciplinary, “Four” presents innovative techniques which have been especially developed for this show such as the colourful fiery dance with four coloured flames which reach up to eight meters in height and the representation of WATER with 10 meter wide water curtains which are fed by reservoirs which were specially designed for the purpose. Common to the four elements is the omnipresence of the multimedia projections which cover within an area of 30 meters, the entire area of the proscenium.

Circo Luci

Circo Luci is the endearing story of Divertente in search of the light of his life, Lucia.

Bumbling through a surreal world of color and ambiguity, he stops along the way to sample points of light in the line of his life. Characters bend light and inhabit the skies, creep in the shadows, lurk in the imagination, and astound in vivid light.

Circo Luci originated in 2003, created by former Cirque du Soleil artist Micheal McPherson, as another form of his successful Physical Magic productions. The show benefits from an artistic team of former and currently performing artists, adding a level of depth and creativity fueled by constant interaction with audiences worldwide.

Circo Luci is translated as “the Circus of Light”, and the show focuses on hilarious physical comedy combined with heart-stopping acrobatic performances. The show is a kaleidoscope of color, with mesmerizing lighting and video projections, generating a procession of imagery designed to stir the imagination.

The show has toured worldwide, entertaining audiences in Asia, the United States and South America.
